Ir Antonio Chan

Antonio Chan is currently the Executive Director of REC Engineering Group composed of REC Engineering Co. Ltd., REC Contracting Engineering Co. Ltd., REC M&E Engineering (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., Tin Sing Chemical Engineers Ltd., and Steerers Engineering Ltd. who is responsible for the operation in Hong Kong region.
 
Antonio started his career as a Technician Apprentice in the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department HKSAR and appointed as Works Supervisor II upon completion of the training. After serving less than a year as supervisor, he joined J Roger Preston & Partners as a site engineer for the Development of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Headquarter Building. He then joined a construction firm in Hong Kong and worked as a site engineer in Shanghai PRC for a 5-Star hotel project development.
 
In 1987, Antonio decided to advance his study aboard in the United Kingdom and graduated in Portsmouth University in 1989 with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.  He then joined as a graduate engineer in the Property Services Agency of the Department of Environment, UK which was privatized in 1991.  With his previous industrial experience, he completed the training scheme in a year’s time and worked as an engineer and promoted to senior engineer in 1995 before transferring to the Branch Office in Hong Kong.
 
In 1996, he joined Yau Lee Holdings Ltd. as a project manager and was promoted to department head in 2002.  In 2008, Yau Lee Holdings Ltd. acquired Ryoden Engineering Group and he was promoted to Executive Director responsible for the business strategy, planning, financial, administration, marketing, quality control, safety and environmental policy.  Ryoden Engineering Group was renamed as REC Engineering Group in 2009.
 
Antonio also serves in numbers of professional bodies including Building Services Division of the HKIE, Fire Services Statutory Advisory Group to FSD, Ventilation Liaison Group to FSD, Energy Efficient Code of Practice Committee to EMSD, Vice President of Hong Kong Energy Conservation Association, Vice President of the Hong Kong Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Association and Committee Member of the Industrial Liaison Group to the SCOPE of City University Hong Kong.
 
To achieve continue professional development, Antonio also completed a Master Degree in Fire Safety in the City University of Hong Kong in 2007 and an Executive MBA Programme in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010.
